Kisah Ice cream

Sudah pernah makan Ice cream ? Pasti sebagian besar sudah pernah kan ya ? Tetapi tahukah anda asal mula ice cream yang lezat itu ? Ice cream sudah dimulai sejak 3.000 tahun lalu. Para kaisar China adalah orang-orang pertama yang beruntung mencicipi  ice cream salju. Koki mereka mengambil salju dan es dari pegunungan. Mencampurnya dengan buah-buahan, anggur, dan madu. Kemudian menghidangkannya sebagai makanan ringan untuk para kaisar. Ada pula cerita yang mengatakan bahwa bangsa Italia yang menciptakan  ice cream. Tahun 62 Masehi, dikisahkan Kaisar Nero mengirimkan budak-budaknya ke pegunungan untuk membawa salju dan es. Koki-koki Nero juga mencampur es dan salju tersebut dengan buah-buahan dan madu.

Untuk resep  ice cream, ada juga beberapa kisah yang mewakilinya :

1. Tahun 1295, Marco Polo, kembali dari China. Dia membawa resep baru tentang cara membuat  ice cream salju. Dalam resepnya tertulis cara mencampur susu yak ke dalam salju. Sejak saat itu orang-orang kaya di Italia mulai menikmati susu beku.

2. Tahun 1533, Catherine de Medici dari Florence, Italia menjadi Ratu Perancis. Salah satu yang dibawanya ke Perancis adalah resep membuat susu beku. Tidak lama kemudian, semua koki di Perancis membuat makanan ringan itu. Salah satu koki Perancis membuka toko untuk menjualnya. Dia koki pertama yang menambahkan berbagai rasa seperti coklat dan stroberi ke dalam susu beku.

3. Ketika Charles I dari Inggris mengunjungi Perancis tahun 1600 an, dia disuguhi susu beku. Saking sukanya, Charles I meminta koki Perancis menjual resep susu beku padanya. Sejak resep ada di tangan raja Inggris, semua orang-orang kaya di situ pun mulai menikmati hidangan penutup yang enak itu.

4. Tahun 1700, Gubernur Bladen dari Maryland, asal Inggris, menghidangkan  ice cream  kepada para tamunya. Tujuh puluh enam tahun kemudian, toko  ice cream pertama di Amerika Serikat dibuka. Lokasinya di Kota New York.

Wow, menarik juga petualangan ice cream sampai menjadi lebih lezat dan terkenal ya. Saya bukan penggemar berat  ice cream, tetapi saya cukup menikmati  ice cream yang memiliki rasa coklat dan kepingan – kepingan coklat di dalamnya, itulah  ice cream favorit saya. Bagaimana dengan anda ?

Bentuk yang mungil dengan rasa adonan kulit yang empuk lembut sangat enak dipadu dengan adonan yang legit wangi. Bentuk binatang yang lucu dengan rasa yang unik dan teknik membuat yang kreatif ini sedang digemari oleh pencinta Dim Sum di dunia.

Dua Dim Sum yang paling trendy, Dim Sum dengan teknik kukus panggang memiliki rasa renyah sedikit lembut dengan variasi isi yang gurih. Delicacy of Chicken Steak

Chicken-fried Steak (also known as pan-fried Steak, country-fried Steak or CFS) is a dish consisting of a piece of Steak (tenderized cube steak) coated with seasoned flour and pan-fried. It is associated with Southern U.S. cuisine and hospitality. Its name is likely due to chicken-fried Steak's similarity in preparation to fried chicken, though the dish is also similar to the classic Austrian dish Wiener Schnitzel (known in Latin American cuisine as milanesa), a tenderized veal or beef cutlet, coated with flour, eggs, and breadcrumbs and fried. It is similar to the recipe for Scottish collops. It is generally categorized as a comfort food.

The precise origins of the dish are unclear, but many sources attribute its development to German and Austrian immigrants to Texas in the nineteenth century who brought recipes for Wiener Schnitzel from Europe to the USA. Lamesa, the seat of Dawson County on the Texas South Plains, claims to be the birthplace of chicken-fried steak, as does Bandera, Texas' favorite son, John "White Gravy" Neutzling.

The Virginia Housewife, published in 1838 by Mary Randolph has a recipe for veal cutlets that is one of the earliest recipes for a food like chicken-fried steak. The recipe for what we now know as chicken-fried steak was included in many regional cookbooks by the late nineteenth century. The actual term "chicken-fried Steak" was probably developed in the 1930s. It is possible that the name change for this recipe was due to the war with Germany.

A 1943 American Cookbook recipe for Wiener Schnitzel includes a white salt and pepper cream gravy.

Makan di Hanamasa Bareng Keluarga


Hanamasa selalu jadi kesukaan gue! Beberapa minggu lalu, pas hari minggu, gue sama beberapa temen gue akhirnya bales dendam makan di Hanamasa Bekasi. tongue
Kita akhirnya ketemuan langsung disana. Gue yang emang udah agak lama nggak kesana, masih inget sama interiornya. Nggak banyak berubah sama beberapa tahun lalu. Mbaknya yang selalu pake kimono pun mempersilakan kita masuk.

Sampe meja, gue langsung bilang sama mbaknya "Dua-duanya dinyalain aja ya mbak" maksud gue, pemanggang sama buat syabu-syabunya itu. Dan begitu mbaknya sibuk nyalain, gue sama temen-temen gue mulai bergerilya tongue

Untuk rasa, nggak terlalu berbeda kok sama yang beberapa tahun lalu terakhir gue kesana. Masih tetep enak dan makin banyak jenisnya. Syabu-syabu nya gue suka, Yakiniku nya jadi favorit gue, cemilan-cemilan lainnya itu gue juga suka. bowl
Untuk minumannya, gue suka yang Thai Tea. Rasanya agak ngingetin gue sama Teh Tarik kalo di restoran Aceh gitu. Enaaakk lol
Dan untuk berbagai macam makanan yang tersedia disana, uang yang dikeluarkan kurang dari Rp. 100.000,- Sekitar 80 ribuan gitu deh. Dan itu udah bisa makan sampe perut hampir mau meledak lol

Way to make Sushi Rice

The key to all types of Sushi is the Sushi rice. There are a lot of ways to make Sushi rice, and most of them will end up pretty much the same. Here's the method I use. rice vinegar for Sushi.

Begin by rinsing the rice. You used to have to rinse rice to remove talc that used to be used to coat rice. Now rice is coated with a cereal starch instead, so this isn't strictly necessary, but I find I get better results when I rinse my rice. If I don't, the rice doesn't end up as sticky as it should be. The method I use to rinse my rice is simple, I measure out how much rice I'll be using, usually 2 cups, into the bowl to my rice cooker, then I fill it halfway with water, swish it around, and slowly let the water drain out. I repeat this until the water is fairly clear.

The ratio of rice to water I use is 1:1. When I make rice at home, I usually cook 2 cups of rice with 2 cups of water. If you can, let your rice and water sit for about 20-30 minutes before you cook it. Once again, this is not necessary, but I find I get better results this way. I then cook my rice in my rice cooker. If you don't have a rice cooker, a saucepan with a good lid will work just fine. If you're doing it that way, follow these steps:

* Bring rice and water to a boil
* Reduce heat to a simmer
* Cover rice and water, allow to cook for 10 minutes
* Turn off heat and allow rice to steam for 20 minute

Whichever method you use to cook your rice, while it is cooking, make up your Sushi vinegar. The ingredients and ratios I use per 2 cups of uncooked rice

* 1/4 cup rice vinegar
* 2 tablespoons of sugar
* 1 teaspoon of salt

Combine these ingredients in a small saucepan and heat them until the salt and sugar are dissolved. The idea behind the sugar is to cause the tartness of the vinegar to be lessened, while the salt is to bring out the flavor of the vinegar while cutting the sweetness a bit. I've dissolved the ingredients in a microwave and never had any problems, but your mileage may vary. Whichever method you use, once your rice is cooked, place your rice in a large flat bowl or rice cooling bowl. I use a large pyrex casserole dish. Evenly sprinkle your Sushi vinegar mix over your rice, and using a wooden spoon or spatula, mix the rice and vinegar well.Try to avoid using metal, as it will change the flavor of the rice. Be careful not to break the kernels of the rice or to flatten the rice or it won't have the same look and feel to it. Once it's well mixed, using a fan or a plate, fan the rice down to room temperature. By doing this, the rice will have the right glossy look while still being nice and sticky. If you don't fan it, the rice's hull won't remain intact as well and kernels will break when you use it. At this point, your rice is ready to use. (i make sushi)

Sour Sally Melts

Sour Sally, the pioneer of the frozen yogurt business in Indonesia, continues to draw long lines of customers, despite the fact that it has opened its 10th outlet in just a single year. The yoghurt may have been frozen, but it is surely melting the hearts of Jakartans, with many willing to stand in line for this stylish and healthy new delight.

With the tagline: "Delicious doesn't have to be sinful", Sour Sally offers three flavors: original, green tea and pinklicious (strawberry). These basic three can be mixed together as a "twist" flavor.

Sliced fruits, including strawberry and peach, as well as more indulgent sweets, such as chocolate chips and Oreo cookies can be had to top off these creamy goodies. Besides frozen yogurt, Sour Sally also offers smoothies and shaved ice, which can be had as the base of your frozen yogurt treat.

On its first anniversary, Sour Sally launched a new menu item, the Pinklicious Waffle, a waffle with frozen yogurt and a choice of three toppings.

"We will continue to develop other new menu items," Donny Pramono, owner of Sour Sally, said.

Sour Sally offers free wi-fi internet connection and plays the latest pop hits to attract its young target consumer base.
A newcomer to the frozen yogurt business is Heavenly Blush, which has just opened its second outlet in Mall Kelapa Gading 3. With the slogan "Guiltlessly satisfied", Heavenly Blush was established in late 2008.

Managing Director of Heavenly Blush Dien Kwik said that his business is focused on its core: health food.

"We want to promote healthy food, healthy lifestyles. That's why we have sugar free yogurt. Our yogurt also contains symbiotics, which are very good for health," Dien, who also works for health food producer Nutrifood, said.

Susana, head of the Nutrifood Research Center, said that the symbiotic in Heavenly Blush are combination of probiotics and prebiotics, which synergize the immune system and benefit digestion.
Probiotics are living microorganisms that can benefit digestive health. Probiotics can stimulate the activity of the colon.

Burger King Buka di Emporium

Berangkat dari banyaknya konsumen setia, membuat Burger King ingin semakin dekat dengan para pelanggannya. Hal itu dibuktikan dengan dibukanya sebuah gerai baru yang bertempat di Lantai Dasar Emporium Pluit Mall, Jakarta Utara.

Burger King Buka di Emporium Pluit MallMenempati lahan seluas 340m2, gerai ini beroperasi setiap hari mulai dari pukul 10 pagi hingga 10 malam. Namun untuk hari Jumat dan Sabtu, restoran ini buka hingga pukul 01.00 Wib, karena ada area outdoor yang memudahkan akses.

"Saat Emporium tutup, kami tetap punya akses masuk ke Burger King dari luar. Sehingga para konsumen masih bisa hangout tanpa memusingkan akses keluar," terang Vikram Noronha, General Manager Marketing Burger King Indonesia.

Restoran Burger King di Emporium Pluit Mall ini masih menawarkan Whopper, produk 'ikok' yang sangat terkenal. Tetap berpegang pada konsep 'Have It your Way', menu lokal telah diadaptasi untuk menyesuaikan dengan rasa lokal.

Burger King Indonesia menawarkan 'Black Pepper Whopper', yang kini menjadi menu favorit. Namun begitu, banyak menu yang disesuaikan dengan rasa lokal, termasuk 'BK Singles Black Pepper' dan 'BK Chick' n Crips'. Beberapa produk ini tersedia dalam ukuran double, yakni burger dengan dua lapisan daging di dalamnya.

Selain itu, penggemar 'BK Mushroom Swiss' kini dapat terpuaskan karena BK Singles dan BK Doubles Mushroom Swiss sudah ada di seluruh restora-restoran Burger King.

"Orang-orang Indonesia suka Burger King, makanya kita buka gerai yang ke sembilan. Lagipula burger dibuat setelah dipesan, bukan burger yang sudah jadi.
